SLV Response Fund Grants Awarded

The Community Foundation of the San Luis Valley in partnership with the First Southwest Community Fund created the SLV Response Fund to help local nonprofits in their efforts to serve the most vulnerable communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.  First Southwest Community Fund provided $7,500 in matching funds through their Emergency Micro-Grant program enabling a total of $24,500 to be distributed.

Colorado Gives Day in the San Luis Valley

Colorado Gives Day in the San Luis Valley raised over $183,000 for 26 nonprofit organizations serving the residents of the San Luis Valley.  Congratulations to special incentive winners Habitat for Humanity and the Valley Humane League.  Special thanks to business sponsors the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad and SLV Brewing/The Roast.

Feasibility Study Complete!

For many years the idea of a Community Foundation had surfaced among community leaders throughout the San Luis Valley. In January 2015, a group of valley-wide community leaders participated in a facilitated meeting, led by a consultant, to discuss community wealth building and the possibility of a regional Community Foundation. One of the outcomes of the facilitated session was a decision to conduct a feasibility study to determine the viability of such a concept.
